ZARA CLARK MUSEUM (CHARTERS TOWERS MUSEUM)
The Charters Towers Museum (c.1883) is housed in a late nineteenth
century commercial building. Gold was discovered in 1871 and production
peaked in 1889 to make Charters Towers home to one of Australia's
richest goldfields. The museum contains items pertaining to the
history of Charters Towers. The large collection includes transport
vehicles, documents and domestic items.
