CAMPAIGNS, PROGRAMS & CONFERENCES
The Trust is involved in many ways. Campaigns are run to alert
the community to what heritage is a risk of being lost. Trust members
meet as branches or working groups, attend heritage-related conferences
and maintain contact with other heritage organisations.

Finding many unexpected similarities
in the rich mining heritage of regional Indonesia and
Australia was a highlight of the recent visit by a delegation
from the Indonesian Heritage Trust (BPPI) to Burra in
South Australia and Broken Hill.
The delegation came to learn more about mining heritage
toursim and to attend the ICOMOS 'Outback and Beyond'
Conference held in Broken Hill in April.
The visit, was sponsored by the Australian Council of
National Trusts and the National Trust of Queensland.

Public Meeting - Saving Rockhampton's Character
The Rockhampton City Council and the National Trust
of Queensland invited everyone interested in the heritage
of the Rockhampton area to a public meeting on 20 February
2008.This meeting will discuss examples of Central Queensland's
important built heritage, including its wealth of character
residences, and how they contribute to the identity
of the region.
